St Mark Lutheran Church

signCelebrating 30 Years Together

1982-2012

St. Mark Lutheran Church, a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), has shared our facilities since 1982. St. George’s worships at 8 and 10:30 am on Sundays, St. Mark at 9 am. Education programs take place at 9 am for St. George’s, 10:30 am for St. Mark.

The relationship has been a blessing for both parishes since the beginning: we combine forces on a variety of programs, and together we do much more than either of us could do alone. We operate the second-largest food pantry in St. Clair County. We combine occasional education programs and, under the terms of the national agreement between our denominations, we worship together several times a year. Our clergy and St. Mark pastors frequently stand in for one another, especially in pastoral ministry. From worship to education to service ministries and even property maintenance, we really are “better together.”
