This Morning

  • The Sanctuary Candle is given to the Glory of God and in memory of Ida Hadgkiss by Rosalind Holden, Chad Holden and Keri Hoffmann.
  • Adult Forum: Meets from 9:15-10:15 a.m. in the Parish Hall. Today the forum continues with the showing of Diarmaid MacCulloch’s DVD, The History of Christianity.
  • Guest Organist: Saint George’s welcomes and thanks guest organist, Evelyn Duncan, who is supplying for Nancy Ypma.

Looking Ahead

  • July 25: Saint George’s book club meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Meetings include dining and discussion. The next gathering takes place on Wednesday, July 25, 5:45 p.m. in the private room at the Abbey Restaurant (5801 West Main St, Belleville, IL). Please note that the venue was recently changed. The next book for discussion is Lisa Scottoline’s Most Wanted.
  • August 1: The WEDG, Women’s Ecumenical Dining Group, will be gathering for dinner, 6 pm, at O’Charley’s on Wednesday, August 1st. O’Charley’s, phone 622-0405, is located at 1313 Central Park Drive, O’Fallon. Please call the church office, 233-6320, for reservations. Come for Good Fun, Good Food, and Good Conversation! And Free Pie Wednesday!
  • The Forward Day by Day (August-October Edition) is now available in the Canterbury Room. This pocket-sized devotional offers brief, personal reflections on readings from the Daily Office. It is perfect for daily prayer and study.

Outreach

  • Saint George’s is collecting the following items for the Violence Protection Center: macaroni and cheese, pancake mix, Pop-Tarts, cookies, diapers, and toilet paper. Donations may be placed in a special basket in the Canterbury Room.
  • Saint George’s Community Service Commission and Saint Mark Evangelism/Social Ministry Committee are collecting school supplies for the Franklin Neighborhood Community Association (FNCA). Donations will be accepted through August 12, and should be placed in the large box in the Canterbury room. Thank you for supporting the children and schools in our community!
