Adult Forum: Bishop Martins will lead today’s forum with a discussion on prayer. The forum begins at 9:15 a.m.

Sanctuary Flowers: The flowers are given to the Glory of God and in memory of Eddy and Mildred Rogers by Frank and Betsy Rogers.

Bishop Martin’s Visit: Today, the Rt. Rev. Daniel and Mrs. Brenda Martins are visiting Saint George’s. Bishop Martins will preach, celebrate, baptize Margaret Mary Skaff, administer the Sacrament of Confirmation, and award the Choristers their new RSCM Medals. A reception follows in the parish hall.

Holy Baptism: Today, through the Sacrament of Baptism, Saint George’s welcomes Margaret Mary Skaff into Christ’s One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. Margaret Mary is the daughter of Stephen and Kelly Skaff. She is the granddaughter of Tom and Judy Skaff.

Congratulations Confirmands! Following Margaret Mary’s baptism, six of Saint George’s youth will express their commitment to Christ through the Sacrament of Confirmation. Brooklin Carroll, Evangeline Jarvis, Dakota Lavely, Elizabeth Mannix, Benjamin Viguerie, Elizabeth Viguerie have prepared for confirmation.

Choristers: This morning, the parish congratulates the Choristers for another excellent year of music. At the 10:30 Eucharist, they will be receiving RSCM ribbons. Members include Eliza Kammann, Lizzie Mannix, Abby Skaff, Katie Kammann, Walker Skaff, and Noa Grace Welborn. The ribbons will be awarded by Bishop Martins.

The WEDG (Women’s Ecumenical Dining Group) will be going to Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen for dinner, 6 pm, on Thursday, May 17. Cheddar’s, phone 622-9475, is located at 6600 North Illinois Street, Fairview Heights. Please call the Church office, 233-6320, for reservations. Come for Good Fun, Good Food, and Good Conversation!

Sunday School Appreciation Potluck: Next Sunday, May 20, 2018, St. George’s will wrap up the Sunday School season with a breakfast potluck. This event takes place between both Eucharists in the parish hall. Plan to attend, bring a dish to share, and offer thanks to everyone who supports this ministry.

Saint George’s Book Club is meeting at Eckert’s on May 31, 5:30 p.m. The book for discussion is John Updike’s Witches of Eastwick. Discussion will be led by Joan Barnes. Eckert’s is located at 951 S Green Mt Rd, Belleville, IL. Contact Liz Stelling for more details.

Forward Day by Day devotionals are available in the Canterbury Room. Issued quarterly, these booklets offer opportunity for daily reflection on the Christian life.
