Today, Saint George’s Church welcomes Pastor Ronald Neustadt who is supplying for Father Coleman. The parish also welcomes Evelyn Duncan who is subbing for Nancy Ypma.

Saint George’s extends sympathy to the family of June Sronce who died on June 27. She was the mother of member Gary Rea.

Convoy of Hope/East St Louis

Saturday, July 22

Jackie Joyner Kersee Center

In a few weeks, the Convoy of Hope will host a social services event at the Jackie Joyner Kersee Center, East Saint Louis. The J.J.K. Center will be filled with tents, music, social service providers, health services, a hair salon, a professional photo booth, food and shoe distribution centers, and a special “Kids’ Zone.”

Volunteers from St. George’s Church, and St. Michael’s Church, O’Fallon will pack and distribute free groceries. All volunteers must register online at convoyofhope.org/eaststlouis.

Sue McConnell

Saint George’s parish extends sympathy to the family of Sue McConnell. Sue passed away on Monday, June 12.

 

Visitation:  A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017 at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Belleville, IL.

 

Funeral:  A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017 at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Belleville, IL with Father Dale Coleman officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at the church.

 

Vestry Meeting – Rescheduled!

The Vestry meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 13, has been rescheduled for June 20 at 7:30 p.m., in the conference room.

Gardeners Wanted!

Volunteers are needed to maintain the parish gardens. Individuals, a few friends, or a group can adopt a garden! Some people like roses. They could cultivate the rose garden. Some people like hostas. Those individuals could tend the courtyard. The newly planted hillside (on “D” Street) will only thrive if the weeds are pulled. A parish ministry could adopt the hillside. Annual Parish Picnic

June 4

Toddhall Retreat Center

This Sunday, Saint George’s Church will hold the annual parish picnic at Toddhall.

The event begins with the Holy Eucharist (celebrated in Saint Cecilia’s Chapel) and the picnic follows.

Hamburgers, hotdogs and drinks will be provided. Parishioners are asked to bring sides and desserts to share.

 

 

Red Cross Blood Drive

Sunday, June 11

9:00 am-1:00 pm

Parish Hall

Next Sunday, St. George’s will host a Red Cross Blood Drive.

Donors can be as young as 16, but need parental consent if

under 18. Donating takes about 45 minutes to an hour and it’s a simple and nearly painless way to help those in need.

For questions, please call Frank Rogers at 618-363-1045, American Red Cross at 866-236-3276, or redcrossblood.org. Sign up for an

appointment, and you go to the head of the line when arriving.
