Next Sunday, August 28, is our Rally Day Celebration! Join us at 9:00 am in the parish hall to kick‐off the new program year with a potluck breakfast. Bring a dish to share and come enjoy your parish family. The theme this year is a Luau, and we will have games and fun for the children, as well as an opportunity to visit with your fellow parishioners and catch up after the summer holiday.


Choir and Chorister rehearsals resume September 7th. Choristers is for children in 2nd – 7th grade. We use the Royal School of Church Music program, learning how to read music and about the church and its traditions. Choristers rehearse from 5:30 – 6:30 pm each Wednesday, and sing every other Sunday and on Christmas Eve.

The Adult Choir rehearses 7:30 – 9:00 pm on Wednesdays. Even if you don’t read music you will be able to learn your part during rehearsals. This choir is for everyone high school age and up, and tenors and basses are especially needed! The Adult Choir sings every Sunday during the program year and on Feast Days.

Sunday School Resumes September 11th

Children and youth gather in the Chapel at 9:00 am to sing and share good news before moving to classes. Ages 3 thru 3rd grade use Godly Play, and Brian Maves prepares lessons for the others.

The Rector’s Forum meets in the parish hall at 9:10 am, where Father Dale leads a class.

The Lambeth Bible Study, a second option for adults, meets in the conference room. This study uses the Gospel reading for the day.


Cook-Off planning meeting is today! The annual Belleville Chili Cook-off is October 7 & 8, and this will be our 21st year making and selling our popular Dragon’s Breath and Dragon’s Fire White Chili. (From 30 gallons the first year to 250 gallons last year, and we still sold out early!) The proceeds from this event go to the Franklin Neighborhood Community Association – $8,000 last year! We need lots of volunteers to assist with this project. If you are interested in helping, or if you have any questions or suggestions, please attend today’s meeting at 9:15 am in the parish hall. Thank you.


Flower Calendar and Sanctuary Light – There are still a few dates available on the Flower Calendar for anyone who wishes to sponsor flowers in honor or memory of a person or event. Flowers are $40 a Sunday, and the following dates are available: August 28, September 11 and 18, October 2 and 30, and November 27. There are lots of available dates to sponsor the Sanctuary Light, which is only $5. Signup sheets are posted on the bulletin board in the narthex, or call the parish office to reserve your date.


Food Pantry – Please remember our pantry when you do your shopping. Donations of canned meat, fish, fruit, and vegetables, and dry goods such as cereal, pasta, rice, and beans are always needed, as are items such as shampoo, dish soap, and toothpaste. Bring donations to church on Sunday, or to the office during the week. Thank you for helping to feed the needy in our community!


All baptized persons are welcome to receive Communion. We believe this is Christ’s Body and Blood, according to Christ’s very promise. One appropriately receives the consecrated wafer on your hands (right over left) and raises it to your mouth, or receives it directly on your tongue. Then assist the chalice bearer in guiding the chalice to your lips. If you wish to receive by “intinction”, leave the host on your palm and the chalice bearer will pick it up, intinct, and place it on your tongue. Do not intinct yourself – this prevents fingers touching the wine. If you do not wish to receive the chalice, please indicate this by crossing your arms over your chest.


If you would like unction (anointing and healing prayer by the priest), please indicate this at the altar rail. Members of the Order of St. Luke are available on the south side of the church (near the votive candles) for additional prayer for those who wish. Simply move to that location after receiving communion


General Information

  • Restrooms are on the lower level. The stairway is just off the entrance and an accessibility lift is located in the narthex.
  • Child Care is available for infants to age six from 9:00 – 11:45 am. The Nursery is at top of the stairs in the Sunday School Building.
  • Assistive Listening Devices and large print copies of the Book of Common Prayer are available. Please ask an usher for assistance.
