SUNDAY SCHOOL FOR ALL AGES

Children and youth gather in the Chapel at 9:00 am to sing and share good news before moving to classes. Ages 3 – 5th grade use Godly Play, and our teens’ lessons are prepared by Brian Maves.

The Rector’s Forum meets in the parish hall at 9:10. Father Dale is teaching a verse by verse study of the Gospel of Mark. Today we are looking at Mark 4:13-25, “How to hear the word of God”.

The Lambeth Bible Study, a meditative approach to scripture, is a second option for adults. This group meets in the conference room.

If you would like to make a donation of any amount toward Christmas Flowers, please use the envelopes in the pews – clearly print your name and the names of the persons you are honoring or remembering, enclose your donation, and drop the envelope in the offering plate. Or contact the parish office with the information.

WEDG – The Women’s Ecumenical Dining Group Advent dinner will be at Fischer’s Restaurant this Thursday evening, December 17, at 6:30 pm. Come enjoy the beautiful decorations and the fellowship of the ladies of the parish. Please call the parish office and let us know you’re coming, as we must have a headcount. Come for Good Fun, Good Food, and Good Conversation!

Christmas Pageant next Sunday, December 20! – The annual pageant will take place at the 10:30 service next week. There is room for everyone 2 years old through teenagers who would like to participate. The group will practice next week during Sunday School, so please be sure your child is here at 9:00 am. Our Annual Meeting will take place Sunday, January 31. We will provide lunch after the 10:30 service and then move into the church for the meeting. If you are interested in serving as a member of the Vestry, please speak to Frank Rogers or Candi Hamill. Communicants in Good Standing who are 16 or older and have been faithful in attending worship, and in praying, working, and giving for the spread of the Kingdom of God are eligible to stand for election and to vote.

Reports – If you are the chairperson or head of any commission, group or ministry at St. George’s, your 2015 annual reports are due by Monday, January 18. Thank you.

———————————————

All baptized persons are welcome to receive Communion. We believe this is Christ’s Body and Blood, according to Christ’s very promise, not “chip and dip”. Therefore, one appropriately receives the consecrated wafer on your hands (right hand over left) and raises it to your mouth, or receives it directly on your tongue. Then assist the chalice bearer in guiding the chalice to your lips. If for personal reasons you wish to receive by “intinction”, leave the host on your palm and the chalice bearer will pick it up, intinct it, and place it on your tongue. Do not intinct yourself – this prevents fingers touching the wine. If you do not wish to receive the chalice, please indicate this by crossing your arms over your chest. (A gluten-free host is available – please let us know if you need this option.)
