December 21, 2014
Welcome to St. George’s. We are glad that you have chosen to worship with us today. Please sign our guest book and join us for refreshments and fellowship after each service.
Sunday School Classes for all Ages:
Children and youth gather in the Chapel at 9:00 am each week before moving to their individual classes. This week we will be getting ready for the Christmas Pageant, which will take place at today’s 10:30 service. There are no classes next Sunday, December 28. Regular classes resume January 4.
The Rector’s Forum meets in the Parish Hall at 9:10. We are studying the Christian faith and life from an Anglican and Episcopalian point of view, and today we focus on the Nicene Creed. Everyone is welcome.
Our Children and Youth will present the Christmas Pageant at the 10:30 service this morning. The pageant will serve as the Ministry of the Word, and you are encourage to join in singing the Christmas Hymns in the bulletin insert. After the service, please join us for a Cookie Reception in the Parish Hall.
Christmas Flowers – If you would like to make a donation of any amount toward Christmas Flowers, you may use the envelopes in the pews or simply note on the memo of your check “Christmas Flowers”. Please clearly print your name and the names of persons you are honoring or remembering. Deadline to have names included in the bulletin is tomorrow, Monday, December 22. Thank you.
St. George’s annual Holiday Red Cross Blood Drive is this morning from 9:00 – 1:00 in the Parish Hall. Information about donating blood are available downstairs, or speak to Frank Rogers if you have any questions. Blood supplies become critically low during the holidays, and the Red Cross appreciates your donations.

Deadline for Reports – If you are the chairperson or head of any commission, group or ministry at St. George’s, your 2014 reports are due in the church office by January 15.
Your Parish Library is open! It’s reorganized and ready for you to stop and browse. Please sign out books using the blue folder on the table. We gratefully accept donated books – please take donations to the church office so they can be properly processed.
If you would like unction (anointing and healing prayer by the priest), please indicate this at the altar rail. Members of the Order of St. Luke are available for additional prayer for those who wish.
How to receive Communion – This is Christ’s Body and Blood. Receive the consecrated wafer in your hands and raise it to your mouth to consume, or receive it directly on your tongue. (A Gluten Free host is available – let us know if you need this option.) Assist in guiding the Chalice to your lips. If for personal reasons such as illness you wish to receive by “intinction”, leave the wafer on your palm and the Chalice Bearer will pick it up, intinct and place it on your tongue. Do not intinct yourself – this prevents fingers from touching the wine. If you do not wish to receive the chalice, cross your arms over your chest.
Child Care is available for infants to age six Sundays from 9:00 – 11:45 am. The Nursery is at top of the stairs in the Sunday School Building.
Restrooms are on the lower level. The stairway is just off the entrance and an accessibility lift is located in the narthex.
