Father Dale is doing a series of sermons over the summer on our readings from St. Paul’s epistle to the Romans.  Come each Sunday to hear the progression of St. Paul’s thoughts and follow his argument for Christianity.

Summer Forum – Parishioner Dee Zopp continues her series on the “Bad Girls of the Bible” during the Forum in the Parish Hall at 9:10 am.  Today we will learn about Mary Magdalene.  Everyone is welcome to join us for this casual Bible study.

The Rt. Rev. Edward Salmon, retired bishop of the Diocese of South Carolina and Dean of Nashotah House Seminary, will lead a Vestry Retreat on Saturday, August 16, and will then be with us to preach at both the 8:00 and 10:30 am Sunday services on August 17. Don’t miss this wonderful preacher!

The Annual Ministries Fair will take place August 24.  Join us in the parish hall from 9:00 – 10:15 for a potluck breakfast and to learn about the many ministries at St. George’s – everything from how folks assist with our worship, to caring for our property, to supporting one another in prayer, to caring for the less fortunate in our community, and more! This is also an opportunity to register children for Sunday School and let them meet our teachers.

Rector’s Forum this Fall – Fr. Dale will lead a class on Christian faith and life from an Anglican and Episcopalian point of view beginning September 6. The course will cover most of what you have always wanted to know about the Episcopal Church, our faith and life, including the Bible, the Book of Common Prayer, the Sacraments, and the worship of the Episcopal Church.

A Grand Ultreya will take place August 16, 9:30 am – 1:00 pm, at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in O’Fallon. Coordinator Mae Scott and Sunday School Teachers will meet this month to demonstrate Godly Play lessons, discuss our classroom changes, and plan for the year.  Teachers and any new persons interested in assisting with Sunday School should speak to Mae so she can set a date for this important meeting!

Free Elder Abuse Conference in Alton – The 3rd Judicial Circuit Family Violence Prevention Council, Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office, Senior Services Plus, and Oasis Women’s Center will make presentations and provide a panel discussion with opportunities for questions from 1:30 – 4:00 pm on August 29.
