Announcements for October 27

RECTOR’S FORUM THIS MORNING: We are delighted to have Bishop Edward Salmon, one of the most distinguished of bishops, preachers and teachers as our guest preacher this morning. Bishop Salmon, who is the retired bishop of South Carolina, and long-time Rector of St. Michael’s and St. George’s Church in St. Louis, will also lead the Adult forum at 9:10am. Bishop Salmon, a wonderful, courtly Southern Gentleman originally from Natchez, Mississippi, who served a number of churches in Arkansas, including Eureka Springs, and Fayetteville, is 79. He is married to Louise, the love of his life! He was educated at the University of the South, and Virginia Seminary, and is currently President and Dean of Nashotah House Episcopal Seminary, just outside of Milwaukee. The Bishop is in high demand around the world as preacher and teacher, and we are glad to have him with us.

ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 11 AM, we will celebrate the Eucharist in the chapel for “All Faithful Departed”, formerly known as “All Souls Day”. This will enable us to celebrate “All Saints’ Day” on November 3 and focus on the true theme of the Day, the faithful witness of Saints held up by the Church as those to be emulated. There are cards available in the pews to list any loved ones who have departed that you would like listed for the service. Place completed cards in the offering plate, give to an usher, or drop by the church office. Calls and email requests to the office also welcome.

ST. GEORGE’S STEWARDSHIP INGATHERING is Sunday, November 3, 2013. “All things come from thee O Lord, and of thine own have we given thee.” This is the time to consider your financial pledge of support. Pledge cards, which have been mailed, will be received that day or they can be turned into the church office. If you did not receive a pledge card, please contact the church office.

PLEASE NOTE that the Following Jesus Bible Study will meet in
Room 6 this Tuesday, Oct. 29. Everyone is invited to attend!

THE LAMBETH BIBLE STUDY will not meet this morning so that participants can sit in on the Adult Forum with Bishop Salmon. The group will resume next Sunday, Nov. 3 in the conference room. All who are interested are invited to attend.
