Announcements for September 29

RECTOR’S FORUM THIS MORNING: Fr. Dale will present the thinking Christian way of interpreting Revelation, the traditional method used in understanding this very controversial and last Book in the New Testament. Eschewing all of the false teaching called “Dispensationalism”, as associated with the Lahaye and Jenkins series, Fr. Dale will show how Revelation 1:19 provides a “Grand United Theory of Everything” as grandiosely attempted by some particle physicists. The true GUT is proclaimed named by John in Revelation.

BELLEVILLE’S ANNUAL CHILI COOK-OFF is a next weekend (October 4 & 5), and the cooking continues! Cook-off Coordinator David Buckley is requesting help this Thursday from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the kitchen of the parish hall to cook the rest of the meat needed for St. George’s award-winning chili. Additionally, if you have some time to contribute helping in the booth next Friday and/or Saturday, please sign the sheet in the hall or contact David at 235-1603.

SHINE PRAISE SERVICE & PET BLESSING: Celebrating the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the annual pet blessing service will take place Sunday, October 6 at 5:00 pm in conjunction with St. Mark’s monthly SHINE praise service. The patron saint of animals, St. Francis believed that God’s light is perfectly reflected in all of nature and nowhere is His essence better revealed than in the unconditional love, companionship and devotion of the pets we hold dear to our hearts. This service is for creatures – great and small – to receive God’s richly deserved blessing.
