TODAY’S ADULT FORUM STUDY continues in Chapter 6:12-18 of

NOTICE TO ALL PRESENT & FUTURE CHALICE BEARERS AND LAY EUCHARISTIC VISITORS: The Diocese of Springfield has new guidelines about serving in these capacities. Please visit the diocese website at http://www.episcopalspringfield.org to familiarize yourself with the guidelines. Watch the bulletin in the coming weeks for a date/time when training will be conducted for all who choose to participate.
SHINE PRAISE SERVICE & PET BLESSING: Celebrating the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the annual pet blessing service will take place this evening at 5:00 pm. This service is being held in combination with the monthly “Shine” praise service with music provided by the combined praise bands of St. George’s Episcopal and St. Mark Lutheran. The patron saint of animals, St. Francis believed that God’s light is perfectly reflected in all of nature and nowhere is His essence better revealed than in the unconditional love, companionship and devotion of the pets we hold dear to our hearts. This service is for creatures – great and small – to receive God’s richly deserved blessing.
THE COMMUNITY SERVICE COMMISSION is collecting items for Bethany Place throughout the month of October. Personal care and hygiene products are being collected. Items can be placed in the Canterbury Room or dropped by the church office during the week.
Additionally, the Community Service Commission will be meeting on Wednesday, October 10th at 5:30 pm at Bread Co. in downtown Belleville. Anyone interested in St. George’s community service projects is welcome to attend. We will be discussing budget for next year.
TODAY IS THE LAST SUNDAY to sign up in the Canterbury Room for a photography session with Lifetouch for our new Pictorial Directory. You can also schedule a session by going online (https://stgeorges.wordpress.com) and following the link for Lifetouch or you can call the church office for assistance with signing up online. Each family or individual that is photographed will received a free 8×10 portrait and a copy of the completed pictorial directory. If you are interested in serving as a host/hostess to check in families for their appointments during the photography sessions, please contact the church office.
