Announcements for August 26, 2012

 A TRIVIA NIGHT FUNDRAISER BENEFITING THE FOOD PANTRY has been scheduled for Saturday, September 29, 2012, at 7:00 pm. This is a joint effort with St. Mark to raise funds for the food pantry. Cost is $15/person and additional information will be in the September edition of the Dragon newsletter, in the bulletin and on posters that will be posted around in the coming weeks. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend!

PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS!  You all are invited to a Dinner with Musical Entertainment on Saturday, October 13th at 6:30 pm.  The Choir is raising money (approximately $5000) to purchase a new piano for the Sanctuary.  Tickets will be available in the near future.  It will a fun filled evening!  Please come and support the choir!

CHOIR MEMBERS WANTED!!   As the new school year begins, new choir members are welcome in the adult choir (high school sophomores and up), the choristers (grades 2-7) and Folk Singers. Rehearsals are as follows: Choristers- Wednesdays, 5:30-6:30 pm; Adult Choir: Wednesdays, 7:30 pm-9:00 pm. Rehearsals for Choristers and the Adult Choir begin Wednesday, September 5th. Please contact the church office for more information 

ST. GEORGE’S 2012 PICTORIAL DIRECTORY – SIGN UP TODAY!
We need YOU to make our new Pictorial Directory complete! Lifetouch will be here the week of October 9 – 13 to photograph families and individuals for our new Pictorial Directory. Schedule your appointment time by visiting the signup table in the Canterbury Room beginning TODAY, August 26, and each Sunday thereafter through October 7th. You can also make an appointment online by going to St. George’s website at https://stgeorges.wordpress.com and following the link for Lifetouch. Each family or individual that is photographed will received a free 8×10 portrait and a copy of the completed pictorial directory.

LIFETOUCH COMMUNITY “FEED THE NEED” PROGRAM: When you sign up and complete a photography appointment with Lifetouch and bring at least one non-perishable food donation for our Food Pantry, you will receive a coupon for $5.00 off your Lifetouch portrait order. Pick up a “Feed the Need” bag that can be used for your food donation at the sign up table. Bring the filled bag to your photo session for the $5.00 coupon. 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! If you are interested in helping with the directory by assisting at the signup table, making phone calls, or by serving as a Host/Hostess during our photography times (two shifts available), contact the church office.
