THE SANCTUARY LIGHT is lit today to the glory of God by Sheri & David Welch in memory of Clarence Fox.

INQUIRERS’ CLASSES continues TODAY, JULY 10 at the adult forum starting at 9:15 am in the Parish Hall.  These sessions will be designed to focus on the Apostles’ Creed, and will include teaching on our faith in Jesus as our Savior and Lord, our beliefs in God the Holy Trinity, the creation of the world around us, and the Christian Faith as live and expressed in the Episcopal Church. Everything you’ve ever wanted to know about who we are as Christians will be open for teaching and questions and dialogue! Everyone is invited to join us.

SAINT MARK LUTHERAN CHURCH HAS ISSUED A CALL TO SEMINARIAN, BRIAN ROBISON, he will be ordained July 23 in St. Louis and installed as the new pastor at Saint Mark in early August.

IT IS TIME TO START THINKING ABOUT THE AUGUST ISSUE OF THE PARISH NEWSLETTER, ST. GEORGE’S DRAGON. The deadline is Sunday July 24. Please submit your news articles to editor, Tom Boschert at stgdragon@gmail.com or to the office at stgeorgeoffice@sbcglobal.net.


THE COMMUNITY SERVICE COMMISSION is collecting school supplies for the Franklin Neighborhood Community Association July 17th through Aug. 14th. The FNCA provides school supplies for children who are part of FNCA’s after school tutoring program and children in need.  Please bring school supplies for Franklin Elementary School to the Canterbury Room on Sundays July 17th– August 14th or to the church office weekdays from 9:00am – 3:00pm.  Please Note:  Missouri Tax Free weekend for school supplies and clothes is August 5-7.  Illinois does not appear to have a tax holiday this year.

School Supplies Include:

Folders with pockets and brads, crayons, pencils (regular and colored), washable markers (original & thin), highlighters, pencil sharpeners, notebooks, backpacks (tote bags), school glue, glue sticks, erasers (big & pencil top) note cards, scissors, book covers, pencil boxes, flashcards (math, alphabet, etc.), E-Z writing tablets (paper for younger kids), loose-leaf wide-lined paper, 3-ring binders, indexed dividers for binders, protractors, rulers, compasses, calculators, Kleenex, hand sanitizer, dry erase markers, erasable pens, and red pens.   Also check school lists provided at Walmart, Target, and Walgreens for Franklin Elementary School.
