THE SANCTUARY LIGHT is lit today to the glory of God by Ed & Kathy Parsons in celebration of family anniversaries.

St. George’s Community Outreach Commission Sponsors 2011 FNCA Send a Kid to Camp. $50 will help Send a Kid to the Franklin Neighborhood Community Association Summer Camp Program for 8 weeks, June 6th – July 29th,  (Actual cost is $200.00 per child). In addition, forty of these campers will arrive a 10:30 a.m. for tutoring. Donations of any size will help pay. Please take an envelope from the basket in the Canterbury Room, make check payable to St. George’s Episcopal Church, notate FNA: Send a Kid to Camp; place in offering plate.  Collections will be throughout May; we will send Franklin Neighborhood Association a check the First of June.

A refresher or instruction about Eucharistic Visitors (those who take Communion to our homebound folks) will be held Sunday, June 5 at noon in the Conference Room.

On Pentecost Sunday, June 12 the parish will celebrate a Parish Picnic  at Toddhall!  The late Eucharist will be at 11:00 am at the outdoor chapel.  Please plan to come with a potluck dish (salad, or dessert or vegetable).  Meat and drink will be provided.

WORK WEEK POTLUCK – Wednesday, June 15 at 6:30 pm in the Parish Hall. Please come and bring a dish to share with the youth workers  and adult sponsors.

INQUIRERS’ CLASSES beginning June 19 at the adult forum starting at 9:10 am in the Parish Hall.  These sessions will be designed to focus on the Apostles’ Creed, and will include teaching on our faith in Jesus as our Savior and Lord, our beliefs in God the Holy Trinity, the creation of the world around us, and the Christian Faith as live and expressed in the Episcopal Church. Everything you’ve ever wanted to know about who we are as Christians will be open for teaching and questions and dialogue! Everyone is invited to join us beginning June 19th.

A Study in Healing Prayer.  This 10 week course starts 5pm on Sunday, June 12th in the conference room.   The study is helpful to anyone wanting to learn more about the history of healing prayer, its effectiveness today, & its relationship to medical treatment. Anyone interested in exploring a call to contributing to the 3 prayer ministries in the congregation (Order of St Luke, Prayer Intecessors, Prayer Shawl Ministry), should investigate.   The class, sponsored by OSL, is a bible study augmented with practical video, and exercises.  Contact any OSL member for details.   (Bob Vaughn, 618-624-1909),
