CHILI COOK OFF VOLUNTEERS NEEDED.  We need volunteers to help cook the ground turkey for this year’s Chili Cook Off, Fri.-Sat., Oct. 2 & 3. David Buckley needs 2-3 people each day to cook turkey in the parish hall on Wednesdays, Sept. 16, 23, & 30 – 1:00 pm-7:00pm.  Contact David, 520-9333, for details.  Please watch for signup sheets to volunteer at the booth.

SUBSTITUTE DRIVERS are needed for our Meals on Wheels routes.  Our rotation is usually the 3rd week of the month, and routes are mostly in the east end/downtown of Belleville. Meals on Wheels program also needs substitute drivers, as volunteers come from Scott AFB, and sometimes they have to back out on short notice.  If you are interested, call Janet in the church office, 233-6320, or Frank Rogers, 277-1406.

LECTORS/CHALICE BEARERS NEEDED FOR BOTH SERVICES. Due to transfers and transitions in the lives of some of our group, there is now a shortage of lectors & chalice bearers at both services.  We invite anyone interested in these ministries to contact Cindy Lynk or Fr. Dale. You don’t need experience, as we will have training in late September.

MUSIC PROGRAM

St. George’s Adult Choir is open to all adults.  Rehearsals are on Wednesday, 7:30-9:00 pm.  The choir sings at the Sunday 10:30 am services, as well as special services from Sept. thru June. Contact Nancy Ypma, Director of Music, 234-1947. Choristers sing in church every 3 weeks and are taught to read music and about the church and its traditions.  (We also have lots of fun!)  Anyone in the parish who likes to sing can join the Folksingers.
