THE ALTAR FLOWERS are given today to the glory of God by Ola Fulton in memory of Bob.

THE SANCTUARY LIGHT is lit today to the glory of God by Carol Ludwick for family birthdays.

THE APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2009 FLORENCE MARTIN SCHOLARSHIP are now available in the church office.  The scholarship is available to St. George’s members for the purpose of attending college, seminaries, nursing or medical school.

MAKE PLANS TO ATTEND PARISH PLANNING CONFERENCE Friday/Saturday, Feb. 20 and Feb. 21.  Friday 6:00 potluck; 7:00 pm program with a Episcopal Church facilitator looking at our parish’s identity and where we believe God is leading us in the future.

THANKS TO THE GENEROSITY OF THE ST GEORGE’S COMMUNITY, THE EYC collected $733.88 during the Souper Bowl for Caring. With the addition of their matching donation, the EYC will provide the Food Pantry $1233.88.

DEADLINE FOR THE MARCH ISSUE OF NEWSLETTER IS SUNDAY, FEB. 15. Information can be sent to editor Terry (Theresa) Paeltz at tntpaeltz@wisperhome.com or  the church office at stgeorgeoffice@sbcglobal.net or to the or placed in the folder marked “DRAGON” in the wall file on the landing between the classroom and the office.

BRING YOUR PALM FRONDS. The fronds are burned to furnish ashes for imposition of ashes on Ash Wednesday by Sunday, Feb. 22.  There is a basket on the table in the Canterbury Room.

THE WEDG (WOMEN’S ECUMENICAL DINING GROUP) will be gathering at The Pasta House on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 6:30 pm. The new location is 4660 North Illinois.  Please contact church office at 233-6320 for reservations. Ladies, we are asking for a voluntary donation of 1 canned goods for the food pantry when you come to the Pasta House. Thank you.

THE MEN will meet at Castletown Geoghegan 104 West Main Street, in Downtown Belleville on Thurs.  Feb. 12 at 6:30 pm.

THANKS TO THE PARISHIONERS who brought in supplies for food pantry in January the response was great.  In February, the pantry needs canned pork and beans, bar soap, toothpaste and dish & laundry detergent.

THE JUNIOR & SENIOR EYC are planning to attend Acquire the Fire in Kansas City, MO the last weekend of February.  The cost per St. George’s youth & their parents is $55.  Reservations need to be made as soon as possible.  For more information contact Brian Maves 624-8351 or Dana Meyer 539-3742.

Lenten Thursdays Soup Supper & Program

Mar. 5 through April 2.  The program will be presented by Fr. Dale exploring the nature of the church and its sacraments.
