OUR ADULT FORUM SCHEDULE

TODAY -‘Church Musicians in Time of War’ – back by popular demand.  St. George’s Music Director, Nancy Ypma, will lead a 3-week Adult Forum series titled “Church Musicians in Time of War.”  Focus will be World War II as Nancy explores how world conflicts affected musicians in the church. We’ll hear their stories and listen to some of their wartime compositions. Nancy is a gifted teacher with a wealth of fascinating knowledge to share.

ON SUPER BOWL SUNDAY, FEB. 1, the youth of St George’s celebrate their 10th year of participation in the “Souper Bowl of Caring” to address hunger in the Belleville community.   The recent economic problems have increased the demand for help from  St Mark/St George’s food pantry.   This year we’re asking you to give generously by bringing canned meats, fruits, and vegetables, as well as your cash donations, and dropping them in the soup pots following the 8:00 am and 10:30am services on Super Bowl Sunday.  “Lord as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us to be mindful of those without even a bowl of soup to eat.”

MAKE PLANS TO ATTEND PARISH PLANNING CONFERENCE Friday/Saturday, Feb. 20 and Feb. 21.

ST. MARGARET’S ALTAR GUILD needs your help. The cost of Christmas flowers exceeded the contributions we received for them. We would really appreciate any donations, large or small, to replenish our treasury and get us back in the black.   Please also remember to sign up for flowers and the sanctuary candle on the kiosk downstairs. The Altar Guild must buy flowers for any dates not spoken for – and we are definitely a non-profit organization!

A DRAFT COPY OF THE NEW PARISH DIRECTORY is in the Canterbury Room and on the counter in the Parish Hall.  Please check to make sure the office has your correct address, phone number, birthday and anniversary dates.

THE WEDG (WOMEN’S ECUMENICAL DINING GROUP) will be gathering at The Pasta House on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 6:30 pm. The new location is 4660 North Illinois.  Please contact church office at 233-6320 for reservations. Ladies, we are asking for a voluntary donation of 1 canned goods for the food pantry when you come to the Pasta House. Thank you.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY – There is a new sign-up sheet on the kiosk in the parish hall.  Even if you have signed up before, please place your name, phone number, email address, etc. on the sheet.  If there are any questions, please contact Lynette Schneider [618] 416-2234 or MingTaoQR@aol.com. There is a lot of yarn and needles donated to the prayer shawl ministry in the cabinet in the Parish Hall. If you would like any of the supplies help yourself.
