Priest-in-Charge: The Rev. Dale Coleman, Jr.

Rev. Coleman is a native of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison (BA) and Nashotah House Seminary (M.Div. 1980). He was ordained a deacon and a priest both in 1980. He is currently working on his Doctorate of Ministry at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX.

He began his minstry at Grace Church in Madison, Wisconsin, where his curate position soon turned into an Interim Rector position.From here he accepted a call to St. Thomas of Canturbury Church in Greendale, Wisconsin where he remained from 1983 to 1990. He then took a call to St Matthias’ Church in Shreveport, LA from 1990 to 1996. From there he accepted a call to as Rector at the Church of the Holy Faith in Sante Fe, New Mexico until May 2007. Throughout his career, Rev. Coleman has been known for his evangelism and Christian education programs. St George’s Parish is delighted to welcome Rev. Coleman to his new ministry in Belleville.

Commission Leadership

Community Service Commission: Nolan Haefner and Niki Massie, chairs

Coordinates outreach programs in the neighboring community; sponsors parish involvement in social issues such as the food pantry, food and clothing collections, the Crop Walk, blood drives, and more.

Education Commission: Yet to be called.

Coordinates the Christian education programs for the youth of all ages within the congregation, pre-K through high school, including Sunday School, Children’s Chapel, EYC, and seasonal programming. All children’s classes begin at 9 a.m. each Sunday with a gathering in the Chapel. Adult Forum begins at 9:15 a.m. Childcare is available for children up to 6 years of age.

Evangelism Commission: Michelle Ziegler, chair

Responsible for parish efforts to spread the good news of Jesus Christ to the unchurched and those who have fallen away from their faith, and to welcome newcomers and help them to become integrated into the life of the parish. Also oversees parish publicity. Evangelism maintains this website.

Stewardship and Finance: Yet to be called

Manages the parish finances, prepares and monitors the annual budget, ensures an annual audit and leads stewardship campaigns.

Liturgical Commission: Betty Massey, chair

Plans the services (liturgies) throughout the church year. The membership includes representatives from all the ministries that help with these liturgies.

Property Commission: Joe Hooten, chair

Responsible for the care and upkeep of the church buildings and grounds. Also works with various contractors used for snow removal, equipment maintenance, and other upkeep.

Spiritual Enrichment Commission: Betsy Rogers, chair

Plans renewal events, helps in the formation of prayer and study groups, and workswith the Liturgical Commission to enrich the spiritual life of the parish.

Fellowship Commission: Marilyn Boschert and Kim Christ, co-chairs

This commission plans and coordinates church-wide gatherings and social activities to celebrate and enhance our life as a Christian community.
