ADULT FORUM IN FEBRUARY- This Sunday, Fr. Dale will teach on Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians, at the adult forum on Sunday at 9:10 am. Written in the early 50s and one of the earliest Christian writings, Paul addresses a great many problems in the church at Corinth. When Paul came to Corinth, the city was the fastest growing “boom” town in the Roman Empire. Situated at the important seaport not far from Athens, this city was filled with a great many folks on the make! Just as with today’s religious and financial worlds, there were many shysters and quacks offering their favorite snake oils, and succeeding with their personality cults. Paul opposes these versions of “getting ahead” with the truth of faith in Jesus Christ.
SHROVE TUESDAY – St. George’s Youth will be offering a pancake supper on Shrove Tuesday, Feb. 21 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm in the Parish Hall. There will be a free will offering.
ASH WEDNESDAY: February 22 we offer the Holy Eucharist and Imposition of Ashes at two times for this important day, which begins Lent. At 9:30 am the worship will be a quiet service in the church. At 7:00 pm we will worship jointly with St. Mark Lutheran and this Service will include hymns.
