THE ALTAR FLOWERS are given and the SANCTUARY LIGHT is lit to the Glory of God today by Ed & Kathy Parsons in loving memory of Ruby Kuehl and Kathryn Stickel.

STEWARDSHIP The “official” Ingathering was Nov. 13.  Thank you to all who submitted their pledges.  For those who haven’t, it’s not too late.  Please place your pledge card in the collection plate or send it to the church office.  This helps us do a better job with developing next year’s budget.  

 

ANNUAL MEETING ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 29, 2012. Elections will be held for 3 Vestry members for a 3 year term; 5 Synod Delegates and 2 Deanery Delegates.  Nominees must be confirmed communicants in good standing.  For more information; contact Sarah Bender, Lana Kincaid or Fred McNitt.  Commission chairs and parish officers’ reports should be submitted to the office by Thurs., Jan. 19 to be included in the booklet printed for the Annual meeting.

2012 FLOWER CHART IS POSTED ON THE KIOSK IN THE PARISH HALL.  The cost of the altar flowers is $40.  Altar flowers can be given in memory of a loved one or occasion of celebration. There are five open dates on the chart; Feb. 12; July 8, 29; Sept. 2, Nov. 25.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR SNOW REMOVAL.  If you can help, please contact Joe Hooten, 235-7290

TWO VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR THE FOOD PANTRY, the third Tuesday of the month from 9:00 am – Noon. The Food Pantry can also use more substitute. If you can help, please call Margaret Brown at 741-0303 or the office, 233-6320.

LUTHERAN SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY will be held on Six Tuesdays from 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm in the Parish Hall – Jan.17, 24, 31, Feb. 7, 14 & 28 (no class Feb. 21).  The Rev. Warren Crews will be an instructor for course that will explore what creeds are, what they do and what intellectual challenges they present.  They will study the Apostles’, Nicene and Athanasian Creeds, the Reformation’s influence on them and contemporary creedal restatements.
