TODAY AT THE ADULT FORUM, AT 9:15 AM,  FR. DALE will begin teaching on the Apocalyptic Visions in Daniel 7-12. Following the well known stories of Daniel 1-6, chapter 7 begins the transition to Daniel’s belief in God’s actions to spare his people from continued persecution they have been suffering at the hands of the Syrian ruler, Antiochus Epiphanes IV in 165 BC. Without understanding what is happening historically, the entire series of visions cannot be understood. The Judean uprising against the Syrian tyrants occurred shortly after the Book was published, and the Jewish Maccabeans took power and rededicated the Temple. This is the celebration of Hanukkah. However, were the prophecies of Daniel fulfilled at that time? Or did fulfillment come with Jesus, who called himself “The Son of Man”?

TODAY we will be using the JOY SONG BOOK.  Please pick up one from the ushers at the beginning of the service and at the end of the service return it to the cart in the Canterbury Room.  Thank you.  <
